Rising Above the Noise and Chaos to Stand for Myself
For years, I have wanted to attend the Adoptee Rights Demonstration
. I have not been able to attend for many reasons. During the first
year, I could not afford to go. Subsequent years, my ex could not stand
my warrior ways on issues surrounding adoption. So he made it
difficult for me to enjoy that side of my life.
For the last year, he has made my life very difficult as many folks know. I have not been able to write any thing about adoption. It has also been difficult for me to concentrate long enough to write about it seriously. Fortunately the movement is willing to take me back . It is not an unforgiving movement as much of the human race is.
I am proud to announce along with others that the Adoptee Rights Demonstration will be held in lovely San Antonio. SMAAC will also be joining us there as well. They too will have a booth. You can read more at Musing Mother . San Antonio is home to the Alamo . It is home to the River Walk . It is an hour's drive from Austin. New Braunfels is fifteen minutes away which is home to the Guadalupe River where many folks can enjoy cooler water and river tubing as well. They are also home to Oma's Sausage. ( You will have to use google to search it out - go daddy is not letting me put in the link tonight. ) San Marcos and New Braunfels are also home to some of the best Outlet Malls in the state. We can't forget Shlitterbahn . San Marcos is also famous for its good eats too. Grins is one such place. I can not forget Gruen Hall too. My brother in law has been known to play there with some of his friends. Leroy Parnell is one of the best country and blues musicians Texas has ever seen. Pat Green is another one as well. Folks can come here to shop and get their school needs taken care in one glorious week all the while having a great time and protesting for an awesome cause.
Central Texas has owned my heart for years. My original plan was to return to the area. God has thrown a kink in that by presenting me with a wonderful man. He is sweet, kind, and loving. He is a good listener. He is a good kisser. He is a wonderful father. He is also very strong with moral and ethical issues. He is a Christian. I hope that he and I will be there together along with our families. With all that being said, I love visiting Central Texas. It is a wonderful place. I am amazed at the growth and popularity of that region of Texas. The food and attractions are numerous. It will leave every American visiting this area happy and refreshed. It will leave you feeling born again .
So here is to all Texans and wanna be Texans, join us at the Adoptee Rights Demonstration along with SMAAC in 2011. It will be the biggest one yet. Texans never do it small. We do it larger than life. Its just how we are.
